City station - carrolton, ga

The vision for City Station started in 2016 with Pastor Shannon Lovelady and several of the members of Southern Hills Church in Carrolton, GA with the realization that most churches sit empty 5 days out of the week, and the desire to be a bigger part of the community. The result is that City Station is neither just a church nor just a community center, but a perfect combination of the two. City Station boasts a Preschool, childcare, housing for 60 college students, a fitness center, meeting rooms, multipurpose rooms, a Christian counseling center, and a large gymnasium. All this alongside their weekly Sunday morning Church services would require a very flexible and user-friendly system.

5 Words Media designed a flexible worship environment that features an amazing Electro-Voice Line Array, Yamaha Digital Audio Console, Elation Lighting and NEC Digital Projection. The Worship Auditorium/Gym required custom security cages to protect all the equipment while the space is being used for athletic activities.

A major component of the AVL system installed was a full feature Conference and ballroom space featuring Crestron Control, EV Speakers, LED Lighting System and one of the first Crestron NVX streaming video systems in the state of Georgia. This system ensures that the church can book each room to the community for scheduled events with an automated AVL system that practically runs itself. Custom programming, layouts, and code were provided including on/off and remote management to the control system.

An auxiliary Audio & Digital signage system was provided throughout the facility allowing broadcast of program audio from auditorium events as well as the “City Station” radio channel throughout the interior and exterior spaces as well as scheduled announcements, signage and Program video from the main auditorium.

With future growth in mind, 5 Words media designed overflow spaces using the Crestron NVX system that will allow an additional 7 rooms to be used to broadcast the campus streaming video system as needed.
